How to Play Texas Hold'em Poker at hijau88

If you're new to poker, Texas Hold'em is the ideal starting point. The basics are straightforward – each player receives two private cards (hole cards), and five cards are dealt face-up on the table (community cards). Your goal is to build the best five-card combination using any combination of your hole cards and the community cards.

The game runs across four betting rounds – Pre-Flop (before the first three community cards are revealed), Flop (three community cards revealed), Turn (fourth card revealed), and River (fifth and final card revealed). Each round, you may check, bet, call, raise, or fold. The player with the best card combination, or the last player remaining after all others have folded, wins the pot.

At hijau88, every table comes with a live stats display showing your win probability based on the cards in play. For new players, we also offer a free practice mode where you can play with virtual chips and zero financial risk until you feel confident enough to join real-money tables.

One important tip for new players – don't get involved in too many pots. Successful poker players are those who know when to fold and wait for strong hands. Patience is the first strategy you need to master, and at hijau88, you have all the tools to grow from a casual player into a genuinely competitive one.

Poker Strategy Tips for Malaysian Players

Sharpen your game with practical tips from experienced hijau88 poker players.

🎯
Choose Your Starting Hands Wisely

One of the biggest mistakes new players make is playing too many hands. Focus on strong starting hands such as high pairs (AA, KK, QQ), broadway cards (AK, AQ), and avoid weak hands out of position. At hijau88, starting hand charts are available for every poker variant.

📍
Understand the Importance of Position

Position at the poker table matters enormously. Playing "in position" – acting after your opponents – gives you a significant edge because you get to see what they do before making your decision. Try playing tighter from early position and more aggressively from late position.

🧠
Read Your Opponents, Not Just Your Cards

Good poker isn't just about your own cards – it's about what your opponents might be holding. Pay attention to their betting patterns, how often they raise, and how they respond under pressure. That information is worth far more than luck alone.

💰
Manage Your Bankroll with Discipline

Never sit at a table with money you can't afford to lose. A general rule of thumb – the maximum table limit should not exceed 5% of your poker bankroll. If you're running a bad session, hijau88 has deposit limit tools to help you stay in control.

🎭
Combine Bluffing with Strategy

Bluffing is an essential weapon in poker, but it loses its power when overused. An effective bluff works because the board and your betting pattern tell a consistent story. Bluffing blindly will drain your bankroll without delivering any long-term benefit.

🔄
Review Your Play After Every Session

The best poker players always review their decisions after a session. At hijau88, hand histories are available to all players. Go back over tough hands, spot your mistakes, and learn from them. Growth happens away from the table, not just during play.

Hijau88 Poker FAQ

Yes, absolutely. hijau88 uses a Random Number Generator (RNG) system independently verified by third-party auditors. This ensures every card dealt is genuinely random and cannot be predicted or manipulated by any party, including us. Fair play is our highest priority.

Yes, but we recommend starting at low-stakes tables or in free practice mode first. hijau88's beginner tables with RM 0.50/RM 1 blinds are the ideal way to learn the dynamics of real-money play without taking on too much risk. Once you're comfortable, you can move up to higher stakes as your skills progress.

Log in to your hijau88 account, go to the Poker section, and click the "Tournaments" tab. You'll see a full list of upcoming tournaments with details on buy-in, start time, and prize pool. Click "Register" on your chosen tournament, confirm the buy-in payment, and you're all set. You'll receive a notification 15 minutes before the tournament begins.

Regular hijau88 members can play at up to four tables simultaneously (multi-tabling). VIP Silver members and above can play at up to eight tables at once. Multi-tabling allows experienced players to maximise the number of hands played at any given time, boosting long-term earning potential.

The rake (table commission) at hijau88 is among the most competitive in Malaysia – typically between 2.5% and 5%, with an appropriate cap based on table size. VIP members enjoy reduced rake rates. Full details on the rake structure are available in the Poker Terms & Conditions section of your account.

All major Malaysian payment methods are accepted at hijau88 for poker – including Touch 'n Go eWallet, GrabPay, Boost, ShopeePay, DuitNow, and FPX via Maybank2u and CIMB Clicks. The minimum deposit is RM 20, and withdrawals are processed within 15 to 30 minutes of your request.

Most importantly, I genuinely feel the hijau88 tables are fair – the cards don't behave suspiciously like they do on some other platforms."

👨
Azlan Jamil
Selangor, Poker Player since 2021

"The Sit & Go tournaments at hijau88 are genuinely addictive. You can wrap up an entire tournament in under an hour, and winning feels incredibly satisfying. I love that the account statistics feature lets me review past hands, spot where I made the wrong calls, and learn from those mistakes. It's a platform that truly invests in a player's growth."

👩
Haslinda Yusof
Johor Bahru, VIP Silver Member

"I'm an Omaha player and it's genuinely hard to find a platform with active Omaha tables in Malaysia. hijau88 has full Omaha tables running almost around the clock, and the Hi-Lo variant is available too.
